The Happiest Place on Earth - Album Info

The Happiest Place on Earth was the first album by Frank Rogala, Vince Rogala and Robin Canada as NC-17. Having been around the LA club scene the better part of a decade, Exude found that the attitude of the industry towards them as "been there, done that." This was the dawn of the 90's and "pre-grunge" music, the airwaves were glutted with "hair bands" that made rock sound like pop music. Hungering for the heavier, more serious and creative sound made in earlier years by Pink Floyd, the Beatles and truly heavier rock from the likes of Black Sabbath - Frank, Vince and Robin decided to secretly become NC-17, a psychedelic, melodic rock band that was propelled by the huge noise that using guitar distortion on Fender Rhodes piano made.

Vince plugged his sax into looping delays and a wah pedal and immersed the band in the swirling sounds he could now produce. Again using the 1/4" 8-track Teac reel to reel the band. And again using electronic drums extremely programmed with "nuance" and "feel" to closely match the sound of a live drummer.
